About Us
We work to make Colorado the healthiest state in the nation by increasing the number of Coloradans with health insurance, ensuring they have access to quality, coordinated care and encouraging healthy living.
The Foundation invests in the community through grants and initiatives to health-related nonprofits that focus on these goals, as well as by operating medical education programs to increase the health care workforce.
The Foundation's assets of more than $900 million are almost evenly divided between an investment portfolio and an ownership interest in HealthONE, metropolitan Denver’s largest hospital system. The mission of HealthONE is to provide quality health care at a reasonable cost to patients and the people in the communities served. HealthONE includes the following hospitals:
- The Medical Center of Aurora
- Centennial Medical Plaza
- North Suburban Medical Center
- Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center
- Rose Medical Center
- Sky Ridge Medical Center
- Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital
- Swedish Medical Center
HealthONE, LLC is governed by a Board of Governors, half of whom are appointed by HCA, the for-profit partner of the LLC, and half of whom are appointed by The Colorado Health Foundation. HealthONE provides a wide range of health services, partners with the Foundation in primary care graduate medical programs, including operating three outpatient clinics, and provides community benefits throughout the region such as research, education, outreach and charity care.
From Our President and CEO
Welcome to the Web site of The Colorado Health Foundation. The Foundation brings people, organizations and resources together to improve the health and health care of all people in Colorado. We partner with nonprofits, businesses, government leaders and other foundations to find solutions to the critical health issues facing our state.
The Foundation takes seriously its role as stewards of the community’s resources. We invest the assets entrusted to us to improve health and health care in Colorado and hold ourselves accountable to evaluating and measuring our progress. This Commitment to Results is our promise to the people of Colorado to work with our partners and use our resources to make Colorado the healthiest state in the nation by delivering measurable results toward three goals:
We will regularly report our progress toward these goals. We will share both our successes and those projects that didn’t work as planned because we can often learn as much from what fails as what succeeds. We look forward to the day when we can report that Colorado is the healthiest state in the nation.
