Philanthropy Principles

The Colorado Health Foundation abides by the following principles and seeks partners and grantees who share these values:

Stewardship: The Foundation is responsible for maximizing the public asset with which it has been entrusted through investments in Colorado’s health and health care.

Accountability: The Foundation shall engage in the prudent management of the community asset with which it has been entrusted.

Respect: The Foundation values different perspectives and will strive to understand others’ points-of-view, cultures, experiences, and beliefs.

Excellence: The Foundation will set high standards in all it does, conducting external assessments of its performance, and learning from its mistakes.

Empathy: The Foundation will honor the immediate health and health care needs of individuals, even as it pursues the longer term changes necessary to accomplish its mission.

Diversity: The Foundation pledges that it will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, citizenship status, age, disability, sexual orientation, or veteran status.
