Philanthropy Principles
The Colorado Health Foundation abides by the following principles
and seeks partners and grantees who share these values:
Stewardship: The Foundation is responsible for maximizing the public
asset with which it has been entrusted through investments in Colorado’s
health and health care.
Accountability: The Foundation shall engage in the prudent management
of the community asset with which it has been entrusted.
Respect: The Foundation values different perspectives and will
strive to understand others’ points-of-view, cultures, experiences,
and beliefs.
Excellence: The Foundation will set high standards in all it does,
conducting external assessments of its performance, and learning
from its mistakes.
Empathy: The Foundation will honor the immediate health and health
care needs of individuals, even as it pursues the longer term changes
necessary to accomplish its mission.
Diversity: The Foundation pledges that it will not discriminate
on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, citizenship
status, age, disability, sexual orientation, or veteran status.
