The Health Coverage team works to ensure that all Coloradans have health coverage.

Meet the Team Leader…

Kelly Dunkin is the senior program officer for the Foundation’s Health Coverage area. Her team of committed health care professionals works to increase the number of children and adults with adequate health coverage and increase enrollment in Colorado’s public insurance programs. Kelly has a diverse background in the philanthropy, nonprofit and education fields. Prior to joining the Foundation in 2004, she was executive director of the Chowdry Family Foundation and a teacher in the Cherry Creek School District. Kelly spent two years in the Peace Corps, during which she trained teachers in Belize. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University in Ohio and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado Denver. (pictured top left)

Meet the Team…

Beverly Dent is the program assistant for Health Coverage. She brings a wealth of administrative experience to the Foundation that includes serving as the office manager for the Wood Adventist Christian School and as an administrative assistant for the Boston Scientific Corporation. Before moving to Colorado in 2005, she held a variety of administrative positions with various nonprofits and companies in California. She studied business administration at Glendale Community College. (not pictured)

Amy Latham is a program officer on the Foundation’s Health Coverage team. She focuses on coverage issues related to children and families. Amy moved to Colorado from Missouri, where she was the director of communications and public policy for a nonprofit health care organization. She began her career as a newspaper reporter and later conducted public relations for a telecommunications company before entering the nonprofit world. Amy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Tulane University and a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Missouri–Columbia. (not pictured)

Erica Snow is a program officer on the Health Coverage team. Her special focus is mental health and coverage issues related to older adults and individuals with disabilities. Prior to joining the Foundation, Erica managed quality improvement activities at the Mental Health Center of Denver. Her interest in health care and policy developed while serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Madagascar. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder, a master’s in community mental health from the University of Vermont and a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Colorado Denver. Erica is a 2005 Bighorn Leadership and Health Policy Fellow. (pictured top right)

Alexis Weightman is the director of evaluation at the Foundation. In this role, she works to implement appropriate evaluation strategies and ensure that each grant includes measurable results in support of the Foundation’s goals. Prior to joining the Foundation, Alexis worked for the Science and Technology Policy Institute, a federally funded research and development center based in Washington, D.C. In this capacity, she led large-scale program evaluations for the National Institutes of Health and conducted policy analyses for the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. As a fourth-generation Denverite, Alexis is happy to be back in Colorado. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and mathematics from Middlebury College and a master’s degree in public policy at the University of Denver. (not pictured)
