Our Public Health Partners
Through our grantmaking, the Colorado Health Foundation supports many organizations that promote public health, most notably:
- LiveWell Colorado – A partnership between the Foundation, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and Kaiser Permanente, LiveWell strives to reverse the state’s obesity trends and chronic disease by promoting healthy eating and active living through policies, programs and environmental changes in schools, workplaces and other community settings.
- Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment – The Foundation partners with CDPHE on the "Smart Meal" initiative, which uses an easily recognizable seal to highlight healthier entrees on restaurant menus. It is also a partner in the Colorado Health Service Corps, which offers Foundation-funded loan repayment opportunities for health care professionals committed to providing care to underserved populations in high-need communities.
- Colorado Children’s Immunization Coalition – This independent, nonprofit organization is dedicated to keeping Colorado kids healthy by increasing childhood vaccination coverage throughout the state. The coalition works with health professionals, parents and the media to spread the word about the importance of vaccines.
- Colorado School for Public Health – A partnership of the University of Colorado Denver, Colorado State University and the University of Northern Colorado, the Colorado School for Public Health is the only accredited program focused on public health in an 11-state area covering more than a million square miles. The school enrolled its first class in fall 2008.
