What We Support

Working with our partners we invest our resources in three primary areas:

  • Healthy Living programs that promote nutrition and exercise and help stem the tide of obesity – and associated chronic diseases – because the number of obese adults in Colorado has more than doubled since 1990 and one in four of our children are either overweight or headed in that direction.
  • Organizations that work to increase Health Coverage rates because more than 800,000 Coloradans do not have health insurance, and close to 100,000 people are eligible for coverage through Medicaid and Child Health Plan Plus, but are not enrolled.
  • Community partners who are improving the quality and availability of integrated Health Care because one in five Coloradans has no regular source of care, and too many of our people are medically underserved.
In addition to our responsive grantmaking in the three outcomes listed above, we also identify innovative projects and programs that are successful in changing the way health care is delivered to the most vulnerable people throughout Colorado. Building on the success of these model programs, through the Foundation’s initiatives programs, additional funding to encourage and expand work in these areas. [Learn More]
