What We Support
The Foundation works with its partners — nonprofits, businesses, health care leaders, policymakers and educators — in three community outcomes to ensure access to the key components of Healthy Living, increase the number of Coloradans with Health Coverage, and ensure access to quality, coordinated Health Care.
To support these three community outcomes, we work within seven specific Funding Strategies. Our partners may have programs that address one or more of these. In fact, we welcome grant requests that overlap in two or more. We look for integrated approaches that take full advantage of each and every opportunity to improve the health of all Coloradans. Specifically, we invest in the following:
Healthy Living
All Coloradans have access to the key components of Healthy Living — nutritious food, physical activity and disease management tools — because these are the keys to good health. The Funding Strategies to achieve our Healthy Living community outcome include the following:
Develop Healthy Schools — Expand the number of public schools and preschools that provide health care services, have health and nutrition education, physical education, healthy food in cafeterias and vending machines, and opportunities for physical activity.

Promote Healthy Communities — Promote healthy communities through culture change.

Health Coverage
All Coloradans have Health Coverage because people who do are more likely to receive necessary care. The Funding Strategies to achieve our Health Coverage community outcome include the following:
Optimize Coverage in Public Programs — Optimize coverage available through Medicaid, CHP+ or other public programs.
Grant Examples
Ensure Adequate and Affordable Coverage — Make adequate and affordable coverage available to Coloradans not otherwise eligible for public programs.

Build Health Care Professionals Workforce — Focus training and recruiting on high-quality, integrated primary care.
