Foundation in Action

As we work with our partners to make Colorado the healthiest state in the nation, we explore innovative ways to encourage healthy living, increase the number of Coloradans with health insurance and ensure they have access to quality, coordinated care.

Here are just a few initiatives that highlight the work-in-progress we are doing with our grantees and partners:

Healthy Places Designing an Active Colorado – Through community-led processes, Healthy Places will help Colorado communities become healthier places to live, work and play. The five-year, $4.5 million initiative aims to reduce obesity by fostering a built environment where it is easier, safer and more appealing to walk, play and engage in daily activities that encourage movement, connection and fun.

The Colorado Fresh Food Financing Fund – This public-private partnership loan and grant fund will provide financial incentives for grocery stores and other food retailers in underserved communities throughout Colorado. The Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) will serve as the fund administrator.
