Rahn was an accomplished financial executive with more than 30 years of experience in the media and telecommunications industries before joining the Foundation in 2013. That career shift may have seemed happenstance at first, but after understanding the opportunities to improve health for the people of Colorado and meeting the talented team at the Foundation, Rahn knew it was meant to be.
In his role as Special Projects Officer, Rahn is responsible for Graduate Medical Education (GME) transition matters and other assigned projects. Previously, Rahn served as Chief Financial and Administrative Officer and was privileged to lead many departments, including: Finance and Investments, GME, Grantmaking Operations, Human Resources, and Technology and Facilities Services.
Rahn says that his journey with the Foundation has been the most awesome, challenging and fulfilling time in his professional life. His colleagues will attest that his steadfast leadership through change, which included building and moving into our new facility, is a guiding force for each member of the Foundation team.
In addition, his personal life is brimming with what he believes to be the greatest blessing of all: a wonderful family. Rahn has been happily married for 40 years. He has four wonderful children who are also happily married and have given him four grandchildren. What’s more, they all live in Denver, and he gets to hang out with his children and grandchildren several times a week. He maintains his health through regular walks or jogs, but if you see Rahn on a tractor taking his grandkids for a ride, it’s an especially good day. They love it and so does he.
