Rudy Hobson

Senior Managing Director, Investments

Rudy (he/his) began his career as a naval officer and pilot in the U.S. Navy and moved into leadership and engineering roles after his military career. Thanks to a graduate school internship, he has spent more than 20 years in the world of investment management, supporting the profound missions of foundations and endowments.

Rudy plays a pivotal role in managing the Foundation’s investment portfolio, ensuring its growth and sustainability to support grantmaking activities. His dedication to the Foundation’s mission is rooted in his personal childhood experiences, in which routine health care was unaffordable and inaccessible. Rudy understands the importance of health equity for the overlooked and underserved.

Rudy fully embraces the Colorado lifestyle through activities like hiking, snowboarding and spending time in the mountains year-round. When he’s at a lower elevation, he enjoys spending quality time with his three children, cheering them on at their sports events, indulging in K-dramas and embarking on family trips.

In addition to his work with the Foundation, Rudy is a Fellow with Institutional Allocators for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (IADEI) and serves on the Venture Partner & Investment Committee of Maroon Invest Global, which focuses on health and environmental impact investing for women- and minority-led ventures.
